Glasgow Hockey Tour 2017

20 Senior Hockey players enjoyed a 4-day Tour to Glasgow to participate in the Topflight Nations Hockey Tournament. The competition takes place at
Glasgow Green, the HQ of Scottish Hockey and the venue of the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Participants included current All Ireland Champions, Banbridge
Academy, as well Scottish Cup winners, Dollar Academy.

Coleraine Grammar enjoyed a successful first day with wins over Cheltenham Ladies College and Mount Sacville, as well as a draw with Hutcheson Grammar.
These results meant they topped their group.

Day 2 was less successful with a quarter final loss to Brandon. Cross -over games meant that Coleraine eventually finished in 8th place, the ultimate
in mid table respectability in a 16team tournament!

Hockey wasn’t all that was on the agenda. There was a hotly contested team quiz, a trip to the cinema and an end of tournament awards dinner. Congratulations
go to the girls who were named CGS Player of the Tournament and the Players’ Player. Also a big congratulations to the
team Captain who earned the Tour Spirit Award.

The staff would like to thank the girls for how they behaved on tour and the fighting spirit they displayed on the pitch. Finally, although they may
not have won they are without doubt the Bus Singing Champions once again!
