GCSE Journalism in the Media and Communications Industry could be your first step towards an exciting and demanding career. Your study will enable you
to explore the dynamic and rapidly changing world of journalism, resulting in self-development and improved confidence.
Learning about journalism is like working as a journalist. Both offer a varied, fast-paced and challenging experience. Pupils on this vocationally orientated
course have the chance to learn about and practise the core journalism skills of interviewing, writing and reporting.
There are a range of exciting practical elements and workshops related to this course that you will have the opportunity to take part in if you study Journalism.
Pupils may take part in BBC School Report and Cinemagic Broadcasting Workshops at UTV and/or the BBC.
Course overview
50% internal assessment
Unit 1: Two articles (400 words and 350 words)
Unit 2: One radio script and one film review
50% external examination
Unit 3: Online exam (2 hours)
